Erzsebet Frey (also known as Eli Frey, born 29 July 1990) is a Serbian ecologist, researcher, and online entrepreneur. She is the founder of Simply Ecologist, a science-based ecology and wildlife blog that focuses on ecology, sustainable living, and environmental science.

Erzsebet Frey was born on 29 July 1990 in Neuenburg, Germany. She earned her Master of Science in Ecology from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.
Since 2017, Frey has been based in Sri Lanka and has gained international experience working in countries including Oman, Brazil, Germany, and Sri Lanka. In 2018, she expanded her professional focus into SEO and blogging, completing specialized courses from the University of California, Davis and the University of Edinburgh.
